Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join the Underground Engineering team at Turquoise Ridge.  The Senior Planning Engineer will manage the planning team in delivering quality mine designs and sustainable production scheduling to facilitate orderly development and exploitation of economically minable ore reserves.

Responsibilities:

• Provide design reviews, manage the mine schedule and promote the development of junior members of the planning team

• Reserves, life of mine plan and other production plans

• Communications at multiple levels about what is required to meet budgeted production guidance

• Perform other duties as assigned.

   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience at an underground mine required

• Five (5) years’ experience in the mining industry required

• Seven plus (5+) years of experience in the mining industry preferred

• Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership required

• Operational understanding of geotechnical and ventilation issues in an underground mine required

• Strong communication skills required

• Strong computer skills with mine design and scheduling programs required

• Operations experience preferred

The Turquoise Ridge property is located in the Potosi Mining District, about 43 miles northeast of Winnemucca, Nevada. Barrick is the operator and 75% owner of the mine with Newmont owning the remaining 25%.
