Lower dollar platinum-group metals prices have contributed to lower headline and basic earnings for Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) for the six months ending on June 30. The platinum miner on Tuesday said its headline earnings and headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months under review were likely to be R494-million, or 189c a share, lower than the headline earnings of R2.5-billion and HEPS of 946c reported for the six months to June 2015.
