Freight operator Aurizon has extended its contract with mining major BHP Billiton to haul coal from the Mt Arthur coal mine, in New South Wales.
The contract allowed for a potential increase in coal haulage volumes from the current 18-million tonnes a year to a maximum of 26-million tonnes a year, and extended the contract date until June 2028.
