Emerging mineral sands producer Diatreme Resources has expanded its project pipeline, announcing on Friday the award of a five-year exploration permit from the Queensland government for its Cape Bedford silica/heavy minerals project, in North Queensland.
Located 40 km north of Cooktown, the permit covered the majority of the Cape Bedford-Cape Flattery dunefield, part of which was currently being mined as the world’s largest silica sand mining operation.
