The very popular Discovery channel show, Gold Rush, ran its season finale tonight. The three mine bosses, Tony Beets, Todd Hoffman, and Parker Schnabel, mined the highest combined total in Gold Rush history.
With Klondike dredging’s rebirth, the Beets crew experienced some aches and pains along the way. But their efforts in low cost mining, translating to higher potential returns, have shown us that perhaps dredging is the future of the Klondike. Their last cleanup over three days of sluicing gave them 127 ounces, finishing the Beets crew’s season with 737 ounces. Will Minnie (the real Beets mine boss) let Tony buy more dredges?
Meanwhile, Todd Hoffman and crew started their season with a goal of 2700 ounces of gold, double what they mined last season. When they reached 2700 ounces, they set the bar even higher at 3000 ounces, and gave it everything they had. But 3000 ounces wasn’t enough for these overachievers. Instead, the Hoffman crew had their largest cleanup ever, bringing them to a grand total of 3032 ounces, nearly $3.3 Million dollars.
Last but not least, despite starting the season without so much as a land lease in place, Parker Schnabel and crew managed to get things in gear. Although it was a bumpy road, the Schnable crew pushed to the very end of the season before the Klondike weather did them in. With Parker’s grandpa proudly in attendance at the last cleanup, Parker revealed that he and his crew mined a total of 3362 ounces, a “mere” $3,698,000 dollars. Perhaps finding land for next season will be a bit easier?
Minelistings.com wants to congratulate Tony, Todd, Parker and all the crews (for putting up with these guys) on a very successful season!
