The US state of Illinois has reached a ‘superpriority’ settlement agreement with major coal producer Peabody Energy relating to the company’s self-bonding obligations in the state.
This is the fourth superpriority settlement agreement, following agreements with Wyoming, New Mexico and Indiana that were approved by the bankruptcy court August 17.
