Media reports have stated that five miners remained unaccounted for at Vantage Goldfields’ Lily mine, in the Barberton gold belt, in Mpumalanga, following a fall-of-ground incident earlier on Friday. More than 100 miners had been trapped at the shallow, underground operation.
