More than 100 miners had been trapped at Vantage Goldfields’ Lily mine, in the Barberton gold belt, in Mpumalanga, on Friday morning. A spokesperson for the company on Friday confirmed that there had been a fall-of-ground at the shallow, underground operation. Senior management were on site assessing the situation.
