Nine Executives Selected to Join the 2016 Energy Fellows Institute

GOLDEN, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The 2016 Energy Fellows Institute (EFI) today welcomes nine executives to the spring cohort. Now in its 5th year, and the only one of its kind, EFI, a program of the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association, immerses Fellows in an intensive week engaging with Colorado’s broad energy ecosystem while closely reviewing the regulatory, capital and structural challenges facing the cleantech industry. EFI links the cohort to local CEOs and investors, regional and national energy thought-leaders, energy production sites and early-stage energy startups to facilitate new energy ideas.

The 2016 Energy Fellows include:

Emily Applegate – Emily joins EFI with prior experience from MorganStanley SmithBarney and consulting in corporate sustainability, renewables and efficiency.

Jim Armstrong – Jim is President & Co-Founder of Apogee Scientific and brings additional expertise from Foster Wheeler, ADA Tech and the University of Denver.

Jim Corboy – Jim is an accomplished financial and commercial advisor with deep experience in utility-scale power infrastructure strategies and the National Science Foundation’s technology transfer program.

Paul Farnan – Paul’s experience includes serving as a naval officer, working for Congressman Mark Udall focusing on renewable energy and supporting the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy.

Sean McCabe – Sean joins EFI with extensive experience in the wind power sector, most recently as the President and Chief Development Officer of Westerly Wind and as Managing Director at Duke Energy Renewables.

Jennifer Ramsey – Jennifer works in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center at NREL and serves as the Program Manager for the DOE EERE Lab-Corps Program and as Manager of NREL’s CREED program.

Craig Swiatek – Craig is the Portfolio Development Manager for Johns Manville in the Innovation, Corporate Research and Development Center and focuses on business development for innovative new products.

Dave Watson – Dave is a seasoned renewable energy sector entrepreneur and was most recently the CEO of EnergySource, the first new, utility scale geothermal company to emerge in the U.S. in 25 years.

Tony Williams – Tony brings energy strategy and policy expertise to EFI along with extensive international operations experience gained during tenures with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and CH2MHill.
