Seven people who were working in the vicinity of a geotechnical failure on the north wall of TSX-listed Katanga Mining’s KOV openpit mine, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, are currently unaccounted for, the company announced on Tuesday. An unknown amount of damage to the dewatering infrastructure in the pit was also expected to have occurred.
