Mining operations at the Cannington silver, lead and zinc mine, in Queensland, has been temporarily impacted by an underground fire, diversified miner South32 has reported.
The company said on Thursday that the fire had damaged the load-out and shaft haulage infrastructure, adding that remedial work will be undertaken over a four-week period, meaning that the extraction of the higher-grade stope 60L will be delayed.
