Located in the center zone of Chile, 190 km away from the major city center and shipping port of Valparaíso, and 220 km away from Santiago, "El Cardon" is located adjacent to the small town of Petorca, Valparaiso region. UTM: 6.424.930 N; 313.004 E.

"El Cardon" is formed by 10 mineable areas, with a total size of 90 hectares. It contains mostly copper oxide and sulphures, with an average orea grade of 2,7%. Although, some soluble Cu essays indicate up to 3.13% soluble Cu. There are some minor superficial works being executed on site. Power, water and boring equipment can be easily supplied from Petorca.

Mesothermal to epithermal gold and copper-beraing veins, hosted by Upper Cretaceous volcanic rocks and related to Upper Cretaceous intrusives.

Historically , the Petorca zone has proven to have good mining potential for small-medium size miners, and some local small operators have been able to mine these mineral deposits at a profit; however, there is limited money for control assay work, engineering and processing.
