In regards to permits, the mine has received a 'Special Use Permit' and 'Permit to mine/Reclamation plan' for mining of about 25,000 tons of ore and about 125,000 tons of waste from about 6 acres at 3440 Fox Road, Canyondam and a permit to mine/Reclamation Plan for mining about 35,000 tons of ore and about 175,000 tons of wastes on about 3 acres at 3366 Fox Road, Canyondam. History of the Mine - The Goldstripe mine near Canyon Dam, Plumas County was originally mined for gold in 1842. After a period of inactivity, recent exploration at the mine started in the early 1980's. Intermittent mining operations began in 1987. Royal Gold, Inc. of Denver, Colorado is the parent corporation of the mined operation Calm Mining, Inc. Royal Gold Inc., also owned the promising Sixteen to One gold mine in the Sierra County. In 2004 Clear Creek Investments purchased the property.
