Location and Access
Access to the Claim is not hard. The off road runs off of 95, just outside of Tonopah. The road inland is in good shape, grated, and can be traveled with 2 wheel drive vehicle, under normal weather conditions almost to the mine. The last 1/4 mile of so, it is best if you have a higher clearing vehicle to get to it. You will travel inland a ways, but again the road is in good shape. While there is good road access, this area does not appear to be traveled. I never saw one person out there on foot, or in a vehicle, so this is a bonus, to have good access and not have to hike, or ATV to your Claim, but at the same time, not be disturbed. You also have some nice flat areas to camp if you desire, or you can stay in Tonapha, where you have a few hotels and motels, some of them, a little higher end, dating back to the early 1900's. I have some pictures if you would like, or there are some more reasonably priced hotels/motels that are suitable accommodations.
Description
This is a rare Claim to have just outside of Tonopah Nevada. The "Hidden Treasure", gives you almost everything most people look for in a Lode Claim. This 20 acre Claim has two Mines. The vertical shaft takes you to the underground mine, and according to the research we have done, has two levels, totaling over around 1800 feet of Mine to work on this Claim. This Claim was worked back in the 40's 60's and 70's to our knowledge. In regards to the upper Mine, you have Tailings that were left behind. These are not to be underestimated on these older Lode Claims in many cases. We believe that this Mine was done in the later years of the working of the Claim, and is not part of the original workings of the Vertical and Horizontal Shafts. In both areas you can see Gold Flakes and decomposing quartz rock. You can see there was a set up from the concrete, with re bar fittings that was where the Ore was taken off sight to be processed. When you look at the Main Mine there are some Tailings left behind, which could yield Gold, Silver. With these older mines, you see Tailings and Waste Dump left behind, and in a lot of cases they hold over 5 ounces to a ton of Gold. With older Mines like this, there is still in many cases a lot of minerals that have not been extracted, could not have been extracted with what tools and equipment was held back in the day, or just was not simply taken or discovered. This does not include what is within the Mines themselves when you work the Viens. In this area, most Claims are Patented or are held claimed for years by Claimants that do not relinquish the Claim in this area according to research done. This is the case in most of the surrounding Sections of this area. This speaks volumes to the value of this area and the District. Do your own research before you buy, about the District and Tonopah. In addition to the above mentioned, there is a natural sloping of the hill,, do not forget to check for minerals that have washed down, as there are a few wash areas on this Claim, which many times lead to successful finds. This is another area that is often overlooked and a missed opportunity to discover easily accessible Gold, Silver etc. When you look at the location of the Mines, the District, the Tailings, the natural wash off areas, and just the general history of the area, with historic discoveries/mines noted by the USGS such as the this could become be a worthwhile Claim, with a little effort. This Claim, appears to have everything one could look for in a past producer to work for new discoveries or find what has been left behind.
