The property is a 160 acre public land site located in Kern County, California, 20 miles southwest of the city of Ridgecrest. Kern County is described as Southern California's “Golden County”. If a gold rush in the California Desert is eminent, it will manifest itself first in Kern County. Gold mines near Randsburg and Mojave contain large reserves of gold ore considered low grade 40 years ago, when gold was worth $35 an ounce and silver, less than $1 an ounce. They are certainly not low grade any longer, and it is quite possible that gold mining will be revived in Kern County on a large scale within years, even months, if present economic conditions persist.

This property is owned by Abundant Resources LLC as indicated on the Bureau of Land Management Mine Claims site. The serial number is: CAMC301605. The site is strategically located near the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in unconsolidated Pleistocene alluvium and marine deposits. The site in an exploration project at the resource definition stage supported by the results of surface and subsurface exploration. As of the time of this report, Abundant Resources LLC does not have in place the necessary permits to conduct mining operations on the site. However, all necessary fees related to the site are current.

Sedimentary rocks of the El Paso basin are exposed on the northwestern flanks of the El Paso Mountains. The sedimentary rocks are within the Miocene Ricardo Formation and the Paleocene Goler Formation. Both of these formations consist of a variety of volcanic rocks and fluvial floodplain deposits.

The Ricardo Formation, as described by Cox and Diggles, 1986, is a heterogeneous unit of non-marine sedimentary and volcanic rocks which consist of conglomerate and sandstone, mudstone, tuff, and intermediate and mafic flows. The Ricardo Formation forms a west-dipping monocline that extends from the El Paso Mountains to the Sierra Nevada fault. An angular unconformity separates the Ricardo Formation from the underlying north-dipping strata of the Goler Formation. The unconformity is approximately parallel to the bedding of the Ricardo Formation.
The Goler Formation, as described by Cox and Diggles, 1986, consists predominately of non-marine clastic sedimentary rocks, including cobble and boulder conglomerate, plbbly sandstone, siltstone, and minor amounts of sedimentary breccia. Inaddition deposits of marine mudstone occur near the top of the formation. The Goler Formation overlies and irregular, deeply channeled erosion surface cut into pre- Tertiary rocks. The formation dips gently towards the northwest.

Erosion of the Quaternary alluvium has exposed the Ricardo and Goler Formations 3-4 miles to the south of Section 22. The sedimentary and volcanic rocks of these two formations may occur below Section 22.

The following summarizes the history of exploration activity of the region and site (Copp, 1999):
The El Paso Mountains comprise a mining district of the same name. Significant amounts of gold and pumice have been mined. Copper, lead, manganese, molybdenum, and gold were recovered from metasedimentary and intrusive rocks below the Ricardo and Goler Formations. Fine pumice from the Ricardo and Goler Formations has been marketed as an abrasive. Placer gold was mined from stream gravel from the 1890’s to 1930’s that were subsequently identified as originating from the Ricardo and Goler Formations.

Inactive mines lie in the mountains west of Section 22, with the most descriptive being the San Antonio mines. The San Antonio mines produced gold from 1887 to 1937 along a 12 inch wide quartz vein striking N80E with 900 feet of surface exposure. Several shafts and drifts penetrated to at least a depth of 165 feet.

It is estimated that there are 64,533,333 tons of sediment on the site.
