Mt Isa – Mt Devine

Porphyry primary copper/gold project. Recent RC drilling results four holes:-

1. 50m @ 1.5%cu + 0.3gt au – grades up to 0.6gt au – primary chalcopyrite from 14m down hole. This was the only hole assayed for gold.
2. Scissored hole resulted in further 20m at 1.9% cu.
3. Third step-out hole resulted in 48m at 1.23% cu.
4. Fourth step-out resulted in two horizons, the upper showing 20m at 0.81% cu while the lower 21m at 2.1% cu.
Barely 100m of a 600m strike has been tested since I recognised and first drilled the project in 1971. During that program Leo Miller, the geo responsible for Kidd Creek Canada, spent time and approached for a farm-in with Texas Gulf. The approach was knocked back by the Whitlam government – the reasons are another story. The ML's held now only cover 47ha, but grade and tonnage are the key and this project has the potential to deliver both. In my 50+ years of exploration in the Isa region I have never seen or heard of primary sulphide intersections over the widths mentioned, or the grades, or the proximity to surface. Devine is in a cluser of five mag anomalies, typical of a porphryr. It is not one of the old oxidised 'gouger' shows common in the region nor does it resemble an IOCG target. It is quite unique.
