NZPAM Mining Permit #53695 is a fully consented, working gold mine located just outside Goldsborough on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. This permit is in the centre of one of New Zealand’s most prolific gold producing areas. The Tunnel Terrace area is rich in mining history, with present day mining operations on all sides. The location offers easy access, good water, with all resource consents in place.

The current section being mined is approximately 5-7 meters thick on a hard blue bottom. During the second half of 2016, the operator ran a small-scale mining operation and produced 187 oz. of gold from 31,000 cubic metres processed, yielding an average grade of 186 mg Au per cubic metre (2.87 grains/m) overall. The upper layer currently being stripped (+/- 10m) has been tested at approximately 1 grain/m which is not economical for mining with the smaller equipment currently on site, but could be processed more economically at higher volumes if run through a larger volume plant.

The operator began an exploration programme on this permit in February of 2016. With positive exploration results, they began a small-scale mining operation shortly thereafter. The current area being worked has another year or more of proven reserves left to mine. The operator has been using both a 4-foot and 5-foot trommel to mine this area.

8% royalty paid to landowner (Ngai Tahu).
Some young tree cover exists with minor compensation paid to Ngai Tahu.
