The Pat Rare Earth Element property is located in the Big Bend region of Southeastern British Columbia approximately 120km north of Revelstoke, B.C., Canada. Revelstoke, a city of 8,600, is a transportion hub (major rail and roads) and a resource center. Paved highway 23 is just east of the Property and logging roads and clear-cut areas transect the Property. BCHydro's 2800MWe Mica hydro electric dam is only 17km to the north of the Property.

The Big Bend area stratigraphy ranges in age from Upper Proterozoic to Mid Paleozoic and was formed by long periods of intermittent extensional tectonism along the western margin of North America creating chemical and detrital deposition within a marine environment with coeval formation of volcanic and intrusive (heat centers) rocks along spreading centers. This action created the formation of Besshi-style and more distal massive sulfide style deposits (VMS and SEDEX) within the Horsethief, Hamill and Lardeau Groups of the Columbia Mountains. This type of geological formation is also permissive for development of carbonatites, often a source of Rare Earth Elements.

The Big Bend Region has a long history of mineral exploration and mine development dating to the Mid 1800's when a gold rush occurred into Kirbyville near the Goldstream River. Since that time development of roads, rail and hydro power in the area has resulted in many metallic and industrial mineral occurrences being discovered. Recent interest in Rare Earth Elements is resulting in renewed interest in prospecting for and development of these REE resources in the region.
