- Project Stage: Significant historical resources that at the time of resource definition was taken as far as a feasibility study (probably equivalent to a preliminary feasibility study according to 2011 standards) and a draft EIS but never permitted as a mine.
- Type of Mineralization: Gold-bearing mesothermal ribbon quartz veins and gold-bearing mariposite-ankerite-pyrite alteration within the Melones fault zone.
- Resource (Measured + Indicated + Inferred): Surface minable resource of approximately 12.5 Mt at 2.2 to 2.7 g/t. Two studies conducted by independent consulting firms in 1986 and 1987 estimated surface minable resources of 826,000 grading 0.084 opt (2.78 g/t) and 963,000 grading 0.064 opt (2.23 g/t) based on 140 drill holes. Most of the drilling on the property was conducted between 1984 and 1988 by a Canadian junior company that was a subsidiary of a one mine mid-tier producing company. A third independent consulting firm estimated an underground minable resource of 838,000 ounces gold at 0.116 opt (3.98 g/t) based on historical underground sampling data from the 1938 to mid-1970's when the mine was intermittently active.
