The Treasure Mine is located just off of Treasure Gulch, well above 10,000 feet elevation. The Treasure Claim covers a rich old gold and silver mine that has all but been forgotten. It is a large old operation centered around a single adit. The remains of an old cabin and workshop up on the mine flats are quickly vanishing. The claim is rarely if ever visited. An old steel Gasoline sign is a found just inside the old adit entrance as a testament to this. A good 2WD road runs just below the mine, but it’s difficult to make out the mine tailings from the road. The old road up to the claim has not been used in years, and would likely require an approved notice of operation to reclaim. The old road wraps all the way up to the mine claim flat and allows for parking just outside the mine entrance. There has been a form of closure executed at the mine. It would take a few guys a few hours to clear the entrance to a passable state. The old Treasure mine is shown as a gold and silver producer on MRDS.
