The Exploration license Area is 4.2 Sq. Km. The area is Located in Nakola, Busia District in Eastern Uganda. The Exploration License Borders Mining Lease Busitema Mining Company limited. It is accessed by taking Kampala-Busia road to Busia town(a distance of 191Km). From Busia town you take Busia-Tira-Busitema road for 6Km to reach the area.

The local Geology for the area is mainly underlain by dacites and andesites. Gold Occurs in quartz veins which shows evidence of considerable crashing. Two types of quartz are apparent; a barren glassy white material and a gold bearing harder milky quartz, Galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and pyrite are associated with Gold below the oxidised zone. the lodes are fissure-fillings and where they occur in granites frequently dip steeply.
The Regional Geology of Busia Consists of Nyanzia volcano-sedimentary formations belonging to Archean greenstone belt that extends from Tanzania Through Kenya into Uganda. These formations predominantly comprise of silicic and basic metavolcanic rocks with tuff and metasediments separated by BIF that forms an important marker horizon. The formations are bounded to the northwest by a granite gneisses complex and intruded to the east by Buteba and Masaba granites.

Davies, 1934 Geological survey of Uganda discovered gold bearing quartz lodes in busia in 1932. He slao published the geological map of the area in 1934 at a scale of 1:50,000. Following the discovery of gold in Busia area, most of the exploration/mining activities during 1932-36 were targeted at the alluvial deposits. Production did not exceed 380 ounces(10.793Kg) of gold (Barnes, 1961).

Exploration for primary gold was carried out between 1936 and 1939 and brought about the discovery of auriferous quartz veins at Tira Mines (davies Reef) 1400ft (427m). Open cast production commenced in 1937 and in 1938 underground developmenmt started 178ft(54m) below the surface. By 1944, 14,250 ounces of gold 84,400 pounds had been extracted.
BRGM/GSMD (1990-1991) carried out systemic exploration over an area of 1500Sq. km. This was mainly stream sediment geochemical survey with grid soil sampling survey at 1000x250m in areas.

In 1994, roraima mining Company(RMC)conducted integrated exploration program at makina and Busia Exploration Licenses employing geochemical (soil sampling) and geophysical surveys (IP, restivity and magnetics) and geological mapping at a grid of 200m x 25m. The survey concluded outlined geochemical gold anomaly of 0.500m - 2.6Km long with a width of 50m.
