Dergelijke technologie wordt echter aldoor aangepast en bepaalde traditionele apparaten, zoals achteruitrij-alarmen met luide piepsignalen, zijn vervangen door directionele White Sound-alarmen die alleen in de gevarenzone zijn te horen en geluidshinder beperken.

Der während der HANNOVER MESSE 2018 vorgestellte DS 7 Crossback ist das erste Fahrzeug, das die Connected Vehicle Modular Platform (CVMP) der Groupe PSA nutzt. Er ist mit der OceanConnect IoT-Plattform von Huawei und den von ihnen unterstützten Cloud Services ausgestattet und ermöglicht den Kunden Zugang zu neuen vernetzten Services.

Die Groupe PSA hat ihre Connected Vehicle Modular Platform (CVMP) für ihre vernetzten Fahrzeuge auf Basis der Huawei OceanConnect IoT-Plattform entwickelt, die weltweit über Cloud-Services, die von Huawei unterstützt werden, eingesetzt wird. Astellas also submitted a NDA for approval of gilteritinib in the same patient population to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on March 29, 2018 (U.S. time) following the submission in Japan. The applications for marketing approval for gilteritinib are based on data from the ongoing pivotal Phase 3 ADMIRAL study investigating gilteritinib in adult patients with FLT3mut+ relapsed or refractory AML.

AML is a cancer that impacts the blood and bone marrow, and its incidence increases with age. In Japan, approximately 5,500 patients are diagnosed with AML each year1. Gilteritinib is an investigational compound that has demonstrated inhibitory activity against both internal tandem duplication (ITD) and tyrosine kinase domain (TKD), FLT3 mutations that are seen in approximately one-third of patients with AML.

In October 2015, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) announced the selection of gilteritinib as one of the first products designated for SAKIGAKE2.

Os competidores trabalharam diligentemente de quinta-feira a domingo para ajustar seus veículos feitos sob medida. Os estudantes tiveram de passar por inspeções técnicas rigorosas antes de testar seus veículos na pista do Autódromo de Sonoma, para assegurar que estavam prontos para a competição. Para fazer uma apresentação bem-sucedida, o carro de cada equipe teve de fazer sete voltas, em uma distância total aproximada de 10,3 quilômetros, em 25 minutos, no icônico Autódromo de Sonoma.

Final Regional do Campeonato Mundial de Pilotos

Retornando às Américas pelo terceiro ano, o Campeonato Mundial de Pilotos é uma competição entre as melhores equipes do “UrbanConcept Americas” (conceito urbano das Américas), que ganharam o direito de competir em 22 de abril (domingo) na Final Regional do Campeonato Mundial. As três melhores finalistas da competição regional das Américas garantiram a chance de enfrentar as equipes vencedoras da Ásia e da Europa, de 5 a 8 de julho de 2018, em Londres.

Equipes ganhadoras da Ecomaratona Américas da Shell de 2018

As equipes dos estudantes competiram em duas classes de veículos no evento. Na classe Protótipo, os estudantes usam veículos futurísticos, aerodinâmicos. Na classe UrbanConcept (conceito urbano), eles se focam em veículos mais adequados para estradas, com o objetivo de atender as necessidades dos motoristas na vida real. A competição foi dividida em três categorias de energia:

  • Combustão interna: gasolina, diesel e etanol;
  • Célula de combustível de hidrogênio;
  • Bateria elétrica.

The Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations (YCHO) center in Saudi Arabia has reached out to the United Nations OCHA office in Riyadh and the UNVIM offices in Djibouti to express their concern over the tactics used by the Houthi militias, which are exacerbating the suffering of the people of Yemen. This move hinders relief efforts, prevents aid from properly reaching the Yemeni people, and grows the black market for goods while enabling the Houthi militias to benefit and extend the war further. There is a strong fear that the Iranian backed Houthi militias intend to destroy these ships, which would create an environmental disaster in the Red Sea in addition to depriving the Yemeni people of intended aid. The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, which is responsible for issuing the permits that allow ships to dock, works in coordination with UNVIM regularly to allow aid shipments to get to the Yemeni people in a timely and efficient manner. SANTA CRUZ, Calif., April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Lighthouse Bank (OTC-QB: LGHT), a top-rated locally owned and operated community bank, today released unaudited financial results for the quarter-ended March 31, 2018. Net income was $1.0 million, an increase of 95% over the prior quarter-ended December 31, 2017, and 46% over the same quarter in 2017. Total assets grew to a record $269 million, an increase of $34 million, or 14%, from the quarter-ended March 31, 2017.

These results represent the Bank’s 35th successive quarter of profitable operations. Highlights for the first quarter results include: Loans increased by $52 million, or 30% year-over-year, and deposits increased $30.2 million, or 15%, compared to the quarter-ended March 31, 2017. In addition to increased loan yields, year-over-year profitability has benefitted by a reduction in the Bank’s effective tax rate.         

For the quarter-ended March 31, 2018, total shareholders’ equity increased by $1.2 million to $36 million. Year-over-year, shareholders’ equity increased $4 million, or 12%. In January, 2018 the Bank paid a $0.09 per share quarterly cash dividend to shareholders. Since January 2015, the Bank has paid $3,021,473 in cash dividends to shareholders.

NEW YORK, April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — When compared with nondrinkers, men and women who had one or more alcoholic drinks per day had an overabundance of oral bacteria linked to gum disease, some cancers, and heart disease. By contrast, drinkers had fewer bacteria known to check the growth of other, harmful germs. These are the main findings of a study published in the journal Microbiome online April 23 and led by NYU School of Medicine researchers.

“Our study offers clear evidence that drinking is bad for maintaining a healthy balance of microbes in the mouth and could help explain why drinking, like smoking, leads to bacterial changes already tied to cancer and chronic disease,” says study senior investigator and epidemiologist Jiyoung Ahn, PhD.

According to Ahn, associate director of population sciences at NYU Langone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center, her team’s study offers evidence that rebalancing some of the 700 types of bacteria in the mouth, or oral microbiome, could potentially reverse or prevent some health problems tied to drinking. Ahn says roughly 10 percent of American adults are estimated to be heavy drinkers, which experts define as consumption of one or more drinks per day for women, and two or more drinks per day for men.

Doctoral student and study first author Xiaozhou Fan, MS, says previous studies have examined alcohol consumption and its broad links to disease and some changes in the microbiome, but the new report is the first to directly compare drinking levels and their effects on all oral bacteria. Previous work at NYU Langone and elsewhere has tied the risk for head and neck cancers, and for gastrointestinal cancers, to microbial changes in the mouth.

Specifically, drinkers had more of the potentially harmful Bacteroidales, Actinomyces, and Neisseria species, and fewer Lactobacillales, bacteria commonly used in probiotic food supplements meant to prevent sickness.

The study involved 1,044, mostly white participants between the ages of 55 and 87. All came from two ongoing, national cancer trials, and all were healthy when they enrolled in either study and provided mouthwash samples of their oral microbiome, along with detailed information about their alcohol consumption. Laboratory testing was then used to genetically sort and quantify the oral bacteria among the 270 nondrinkers, 614 moderate drinkers, and 160 heavy drinkers. Results were plotted on graphs to determine which bacteria in drinkers stood out — and grew more or less — than in nondrinkers.

Researchers note that while their study was large enough to capture differences between bacteria among drinkers and nondrinkers, more people would be needed to assess any microbiome differences among those who consumed only wine, beer, or liquor. Some 101 wine-only drinkers were involved in the latest study, in addition to 39 who drank only beer and 26 who drank only liquor.

Ahn, an associate professor at NYU Langone in the Department of Population Health, says her team’s next steps are to work out the biological mechanisms behind alcohol’s effects on the oral microbiome. And she emphasized that her work is still a long way from determining if blocking or promoting any particular changes in the microbiome would lead to healthy bacteria levels similar to those found in nondrinkers.

Possible explanations for drinking-related microbiome imbalances, Ahn says, could be that acids in alcoholic beverages make the oral environment hostile for certain bacteria to grow. Another reason, she says, could be the buildup of harmful byproducts from alcohol’s breakdown, including chemicals called acetaldehydes, which along with the harmful toxins in the mouth from tobacco smoke, are produced by certain bacteria, such as Neisseria.

INDIANAPOLIS, April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) and Incyte Corporation (NASDAQ: INCY) announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Arthritis Advisory Committee recommended approval of the 2-mg dose of baricitinib, a once-daily oral medication for the treatment of moderately-to-severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for adult patients who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to methotrexate. While the Advisory Committee unanimously supported the efficacy of the 4-mg dose of baricitinib, it did not recommend approval of the 4-mg dose of baricitinib for the proposed indication based on the adequacy of the safety and benefit-risk profiles.

“We are confident that baricitinib, if approved, can help people in the U.S. manage the challenges of living with RA,” said Christi Shaw, president of Lilly Bio-Medicines. “While we are disappointed with the Advisory Committee’s assessment of the data for the 4-mg dose, we are confident in the positive benefit-risk profile of both the 2-mg and the 4-mg doses. Baricitinib 2-mg and 4-mg doses are approved in more than 40 countries, including the member states of the European Union and Japan.

For both doses, the Advisory Committee voted to support the assessment that baricitinib’s data provide substantial evidence of efficacy. For the 2-mg dose, the Advisory Committee voted in favor of the assessment that baricitinib’s safety data adequately support its approval. For the 4-mg dose, the Advisory Committee voted against the assessment that baricitinib’s safety data was adequate to support its approval based on the proposed indication.

The Advisory Committee’s recommendation was based on baricitinib’s global development program, which included four completed Phase 3 studies. In total, 3,492 patients, who represented a range of treatment experiences, received baricitinib in the global RA development program. The Phase 3 studies evaluated baricitinib’s treatment impact related to RA signs and symptoms, physical function, joint damage progression and other patient-reported outcomes. The Phase 3 program also evaluated recognized risks for RA patients, including serious infection, malignancy, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), venous thromboembolism (VTE), and gastrointestinal perforations, along with key laboratory changes. The safety profile of baricitinib is based on 7,860 patient-years of exposure.

“Despite advances in the management of RA over the last 20 years, which include early treatment, optimized use of traditional therapies for rheumatic disease and the advent of newer medications such as biologics, many patients are still struggling to meet treatment targets, and live with debilitating pain, fatigue and other symptoms of RA,” said Peter Taylor, MA, PhD, professor, University of Oxford, an expert who attended the Advisory Committee Meeting. “Baricitinib could be a promising option for RA patients in the U.S. who are not achieving adequate disease control with currently available treatments.”

SAN DIEGO, April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — The three member Associations of Sandicor® MLS have agreed to a final settlement of all lawsuits resulting in a resolution to realign their MLS memberships to service the best interests of their respective association members. Sandicor® MLS is comprised of North San Diego County Association of REALTORS® (NSDCAR), Pacific Southwest Association of REALTORS® (PSAR), and Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® (GSDAR).

The settlement was drafted and reviewed by attorneys representing each respective Association Of REALTORS®, Sandicor® and CRMLS. All parties involved support the details of the settlement. With this resolution, NSDCAR and PSAR will join California Regional MLS (CRMLS), and GSDAR will obtain its MLS through an entity separate but owned by GSDAR, named San Diego Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (SDMLS). The name Sandicor®, as a distinct brand in the San Diego marketplace, will cease to exist. Each Association has acted with the intention of providing its membership with the most valuable MLS products and customer service.

To ensure all members receive open access to as much information as possible, all three Associations have agreed to share data across both MLSs, maintaining the same county wide coverage there is currently. MLS Subscribers will continue accessing MLS data and have the same level of access and user experience through Paragon, the software platform San Diego-area MLS users have been using for over three years. All members will continue to have the same look and feel that Sandicor® members have grown accustomed to, with no disruption of service.

In addition to keeping the Paragon system in place for all agents in San Diego County, users will have access to all listings and sold data for the entire county as well. This resolution provides each Association with their desired MLS outcome. It is anticipated to take at least 6 months for the new shared Paragon system to be built. The new system will have the same design and functionality of the current system.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, today announced an exclusive international recording agreement with Kris Wu, one of Asia’s biggest stars and an artist whose creative success spans music, film and television.

Under the agreement, future music from the multi-talented phenomenon will be released internationally, excluding Japan and Korea, through a partnership of Universal Music China, Interscope Geffen A&M in the U.S. and Island Records in the U.K., as well as UMG’s operations in more than 60 countries, delivering impactful worldwide campaigns across digital platforms, physical releases, audio-visual titles and select live events.

The 27-year-old music producer, singer song-writer and actor was born in Guangzhou, China, and in October became the only Chinese artist to reach No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Chart with the smash success of the single “Deserve,” featuring Travis Scott. Along with gaining significant airplay on American radio, “Deserve” has racked up more than a billion streams to date.
