This mine site is located within our EPM25799 in South Eastern Queensland in the Toowoomba shire at Thanes Creek. This historic mine is located only 250m off a sealed road and has all weather access.

The reef is exposed underground in the roof of the crooked shaft (photos attached with visible gold). In the old days this was left for support and the work involved to remove the several hundred tonnes of earth on ground level to trench and remove the reef was obviously not economic with a pick and shovel. With modern means using an excavator and dozer it would take less than a week to expose / remove the whole reef for crushing. The depth of this reef from ground level would not exceed 25 feet starting from a few feet. Estimates based on our ground based magnetic survey estimate the total quantity of ore in the reef to be over 20kg AU or $900,000k. As we have several large deposits we are proving up in this EPM we wish to sell this as it is too small for us to set up for processing. NO TIME WASTERS PLEASE

This area lies within the NEFB (New England Fold Belt). This prospective area is highly mineralised with most hi-grade reefs occurring in slate belt contact zones.

Most of the reefs consist of laminated carbonaceous quartz though some deposits in the area gold has permeated into contact rock. Gold is predominantly free milling .

Gold was first discovered in this area in the 1850's, shortly after woods a small Gold Rush occurred throughout the area. This only lasted for a few years as the "New".

Gympie gold rush caused most miners in the area to leave and look for easily recoverable "Alluvial" gold. Most mines in this field are very underdeveloped due to the times and lack of mechanical means.
