Summary
The Colossal Mine consists of 17.59 deeded acres, surrounded by 140 acres of mineral rights, containing 8 lode mining claims (157.59 acres total). Government property taxes and fees cost about $1,500 per year.
Colossal Mine contains at least 5 distinct gold rich quartz veins on the surface which average from a low of 7 grams to over 58 grams of gold per ton (2000 pounds) with widths from two to twenty-five feet, extending for lengths of many thousands of feet.
Four of the Northerly quartz veins assay from a low of 125 grams to over 1250 grams of silver per ton, while the easterly-westerly Fenton vein averages 75 grams of silver per ton.
The claim block appears to capture a proximal, apical portion of a shallow porphyry copper system. Recent examination by Timothy M. Marsh, Ph.D., P.E., geological engineer in April 2017, described a topographically resistant, elliptical plug, 200 feet in diameter along with prominent ridgelines, mineralization of 400 feet, revealed the following:
COPPER 47 ppm to more than 7600 ppm
GOLD average of 1.676 grams per ton
MOLYBDENUM 2169 ppm.
Existing water table is shallow with strong aquifer.
Elevation of the mine is about 5200 feet. Making it operational year-round.
Dr. Tim Marsh stated (April 2017) in his report that he also saw a blue-gray sulfide mineral in nearly all of quartz veins and confirmed by XRF that it was molybdenite.
A previous V.L.F. (Electromagnetic survey) done on an adjacent property to the east, verified that the western area leading into the Colossal Mine appears to have the strongest conductivity.
Gold rich quartz veins can be removed from the surface without requiring underground mining.
All the information indicates a link between gold-quartz veins and an undiscovered sulfide body, Laramide porphyry copper system on the Colossal Mine.
