Description

The Climax-Le Roy group of patented mining cliams , known as the Anderson Brothers Mines, are located in the Dos Cabezas Mining District, Cochise County, Arizona. Several mines in this region have been reassessed and reopened, partially due to the dramatic increase in the value of gold and silver. Among these, located less than a mile North from the Anderson property, is the Gold Prince, recently leased by Phelps Dodge which has now begun operations.

The ore estimates are conservative as to their quantities and assigned categories. (Numbers and reports from the 1980s)

The estimate of valuable ore is 1.3 million tons with a gross value of 221 million dollars. The depth and width of known ore bodies are considerable and the geologist's opinion is that the major ore vein continues down to a much greater depth than has been verified. Cost estimates for mining and recovery operations are also conservative and based on the use of a 150 ton per day capacity mill, which could be increased in the future. Over 5,000 feet of shafts and drifts, and good roads to all mines exist and are present substantial development was in place. Water and power are also readily available. Estimated
initial rights and development costs are 6.7 million and operations would begin within 6 months. The projected revenue return based on an average ore grade for all tonnage is $619,687 gross per month, and after mining, milling and marketing costs are deducted, leaves $480,935 NET PROFIT per
month.

The location and elevation of these mines allow for year round production which is projected to last over 20 years. Once the mine is operational further exploratory work, including core drilling will define the remaining unknown areas along the strike. It is expected these findings will increase the number of operational years. The recent discovery of tungsten and the continued rise in price of gold and silver makes these holdings much more valuable than previously thought.

Geology

Hard rock type and multi-mineral, bearing gold, silver, lead and zinc. Hard rock type and multi-mineral, bearing gold, silver, lead and zinc. There are also recently discovered tungsten deposits, some of which would be mined using open pit methods.

History

(Most recent info as of the 1980s) The original owners ,Oliver V. Anderson and Edgar S. Anderson, brothers, 76 and 82 years of age, have made limited attempts to develop the property through leasing. They passed operations to family members and become inactive in further developments. These mineral holdings have been in the Anderson/Bean family for over forty years, in fact the father of the present owners was involved with the development of one of these mines in the early 1900's. The Anderson Brothers mines differ from most others in that they were not "played out" or worked until the ore gave out, but closed in the 1930's except for limited surface work continued by individual lessors until the 1950's. During 1980-81 approximately $225,000 in core drilling and geologist's fees was invested.
