Very encouraging gold values were recorded on a deposit estimated to contain 700,000 cubic yards of potentially economic gravels averaging 10 feet in thickness. The deposit is glacial in origin and hosts very little overburden. This area has seen a lot of hard rock mining and exploration over the years. Due to its remoteness these claims have never been worked with machinery, and hold excellent promise for a large scale placer operation.

Placer Gold was first discovered in McClair Creek in 1925, since then there have been several successful exploration projects focused on the McClair Creek Gravels.
