Summary

47 Claims, New 10 year Mining and Water License. Maisy May Creek has been a well known placer gold producer since the early 1900s. Gold grades range between 0.01 oz per cu. yard to 0.04 oz per cu. yard.

Location and Access

The mine is located 113 kilometers from Dawson City, with good access for large equipment and is currently being upgraded by Newmont/Gold Corp to their Coffee Creek project.

Description

47 total claims with 43 virgin, Values range from 0.01 oz per cu. yard to 0.04 oz per cu. yard. There is 3 to 5 feet of black muck to be removed along with 10 feet of barren material in order to expose the gold bearing gravels.  Depth to bedrock varies between 20-45 feet.  The valley floor is wide with a shallow grade for easy mining.  Gold has been assayed at around 83% pure and ranges from fine gold up to 4 gram nuggets. Lots of documentation is available for this property including a 2008 43-101 report, Historical documents and production records.

Geology

The gravels are made up of quartz, igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks, and particles of sedimentary rocks.
Bedrock is blocky weathering schist. The placer deposits bedrock is a gold bearing rock mapped as the Nasina
Sub-terrane which consists of metamorphosed Early to Mid-Paleozoic continental margin with superimposed Late-Devonian and Early Mississippian arc volcanic and plutonic rocks.

History

The creek was mined by hand in the early 1900s and by Queen Stake Resources and smaller miners from 1980 to 1994, with a total of over 18,000 ounces produced between those years. There are close to 300 claims staked on Maisy May and its tributaries with 2 other mines currently operating.

Can be sold with a new 250 Cu. yard an hour wash plant with 145 hrs on it for an additional $500,000 USD.
